Welcome to the Tour de France Fantasy League brought to you by Ultimate Dream Teams and Bicycling.

Manage your own virtual team in the 2011 Tour de France. Select your fantasy team of riders and teams and score points based on the real life performance of the players in your team. Please read below for a full summary of how the game works.

Team Selection

Once you have registered you will need to select your Tour de France Fantasy Team. All team management decisions such as team transfers and choosing your riders and teams (e.g. Liquigas, Cofidis, etc.) occur in the Manage My Team page (not available immediately after a round locks out). On the Manage My Team page, follow the simple on-screen instructions to select your team.

You can freely modify your team right up until the competition starts.

Your fantasy team will need to be made up of the following:

9 x riders (e.g. Alberto Contador, Thomas Voeckler)
2 x teams (e.g. Saxo Bank, Cofidis)

You can make a maximum of 3 selections from any one team. (For example, you can select 3 riders from Team Rabobank, or 2 Rabobank riders and Rabobank itself as one of your 2 teams.)

You must select a full team of 9 riders and 2 teams before you can save your team.

Transfers

Player transfers occur on the Manage My Team page. You can make unlimited transfers before the tournament starts.

  • The Tour de France Fantasy League is divided into 7 rounds.
  • Once the tournament starts, you are restricted to a maximum of 20 transfers for the whole tournament.
  • There is no limit to the number of transfers you can make in any given round. However, note that every time you swap riders and teams in and out and press the Save Changes button your total transfer allocation will be reduced. Be sure to choose carefully before saving your team as all changes are final and cannot be reversed.

Note:
The Manage My Team page is temporarily unavailable while a round is in progress. It will only open at the end of a round once the scores have been updated. You can then make changes to your team for the next round. The Transfer Window will remain open up until the start of the next round. A countdown clock indicates the time remaining until Lockout.

Leagues

Playing in a league allows you to monitor your performance against everybody else participating in the game. There are two types of public leagues known as the Global League and Round League. You can also set up one or many Private Leagues in either game format where you challenge your friends and family to play against you. Here’s how it works:

Global Fantasy League
All Fantasy managers are automatically registered in this league which displays the Top 500 players in the competition.

Fantasy Round League
Displays the Top 500 Fantasy managers from the current round and allows you to monitor your round by round performance.

Private Leagues
You can create your own Private League and invite people to compete with you. The option to set up or join a Private League can be accessed from the My Leagues page once you have logged in. You can choose to send an automatic email to your friends by entering their email addresses online, or alternatively you can forward your Private League code to them. You can also upload your own logo for your league. An additional feature in the Leagues area is a message board which you can use to communicate with other team managers in your League by posting comments. The League Administrator has the functionality to delete uninvited teams or inappropriate comments.
