Welcome to the 2011 F1 Predictor

Follow the 2011 Formula 1 season with Car Magazine and Ultimate Dream Teams. Predict the top 10 drivers and who'll grab pole position and the fastest lap.

The F1 Predictor is a sports prediction game that allows you to pick the results for upcoming races. You earn points based on the accuracy of your predictions.

You can challenge your friends and family to play against you in a private league. You will also be automatically entered into the Global League where you can pit your talents against the best players out there.

Making Predictions

You can make your predictions for all upcoming Formula 1 races in one go, however we recommend you play the game race-by-race as form can change quickly.

On the My Predictions tab, you can use the drop-down menus to make your predictions, then click on the 'Save my predictions' button. The Round drop-down allows you to view and make predictions for upcoming rounds.

Scoring Points

Points are awarded according to the following:

1. For correctly predicting each driver's final race position = 40 pts
2. For correctly predicting the pole position = 30 pts
3. For correctly predicting the fastest lap = 30 pts

Race position margin points
Awarded for accuracy in relation to a driver's final position. The closer you are to the final position the more points you get.

1 position off final result = 15 pts
2 positions off final result = 10 pts
3 positions off final result = 5 pts

Example:
You predict Fernando Alonso will win the race and Michael Schumacher will come second. The actual result is Alonso wins but Schumacher ends up in third. You earn 40 pts for correctly predicting Alonso winning and 15 points for being one position away from Schumacher's final position. This would gives you a points tally of 55 for those two drivers.

Leagues

In addition to the overall competition, you can set up one or many Private Leagues where you can invite your friends, family and colleagues to compete against you. The option to set up or join a Private League can be accessed from the My Leagues page once you have logged in.

You can send a league invite to your friends via the automatic email form on the website or by forwarding them your Private League code. Anybody who wishes to join your league must enter the league code here in order to take part.

You can also upload your own logo for your league. An additional feature in the Leagues area is a message board which you can use to communicate with other players in your League by posting comments. The League Administrator may delete uninvited players or inappropriate comments.

• You are automatically entered in the Global League which includes all the registered players in the overall competition.
• The Leaderboard lists the Top 500 players in the Global League.
• The Round Leaderboard lists the Top 500 players from the current round.

Rounds

There are 19 Rounds in total during the F1 Predictor competition.

Please refer to the Rounds page for the full schedule and remember that predictions are locked at the start of the qualifying session for each new Round.
